Privacy Policy

The Short Version

BudgetGrove is designed with privacy at its core. Your financial data never leaves your device. We don't collect it, we don't store it on servers, and we don't sell it. Period.

1. Data Storage

All of your financial data — including income, expenses, bills, debts, savings goals, budget targets, and app settings — is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage on your device.

• No financial data is transmitted to our servers or any third party.
• No financial data is stored in the cloud (unless a future Pro+ cloud sync feature is explicitly enabled by you).
• We have no ability to access, view, or recover your data.

2. Information We Collect

We collect virtually nothing. Specifically:

• No personal information — we don't require accounts, names, or emails to use the free tier.
• No analytics or tracking — we do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking tools.
• No fingerprinting — we don't collect device fingerprints or behavioral data.
• No cookies for tracking — we only use functional cookies/localStorage necessary for the app to work (e.g., saving your dark mode preference).

3. Payment Processing

If you subscribe to a paid plan (Pro or Pro+), payment is processed by Stripe.

• Your payment information (card number, billing address) goes directly to Stripe — we never see or store it.
• Stripe may collect information necessary to process your payment in accordance with their privacy policy.
• We receive only a confirmation of payment status (active/cancelled) and your email address for subscription management.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

BudgetGrove uses your browser's localStorage to save your app data and preferences. This is not a “cookie” in the traditional sense — it's local data that stays on your device and is never sent to any server. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies.

5. Third-Party Services

BudgetGrove currently uses minimal third-party services:

• Stripe — for payment processing (paid plans only).
• Google Fonts — for loading the DM Sans and DM Serif Display typefaces. Google may log font requests per their privacy policy.

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or social media tracking services.

6. Children's Privacy

BudgetGrove is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we don't collect personal data from anyone, this is inherently enforced.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
